Cruise & Randoms

Sometimes, you won’t know who you will meet. I told myself to take the extra effort to make myself look proper from now onwards, even if just going to the supermarket.

SG is hotter than BKK!
April 30, 2008 – 6:14 pm | by AlexisBefore I go, many people told me that BKK is in very hot season now. But, after coming back from there, I feel that SG is even HOTTER! For the past 4 days in BKK, it rained almost every night and the weather is so much more bearable than in SG.
This trip to BKK is much more interesting than the one I went for in November 2007. Other than going to the famous Erawan Shrine, Sis & I brought my parents to Grand Palace, Wat Pho & Wat Arun. Personally, I feel more completed for this trip to have visited the famous places in Bangkok. Bangkok is more than just shopping, which many of my friends keep telling me. I agree that goods there are much cheaper, but for the price you pay, you compensate the quality. 
The hotel I stayed in, The Ecotel, is nice. Probably because it’s new, the rooms are very clean and I love the decors in the hotel lounge. It was still in construction and I believe that once it’s complete, it will be quite huge (can see from my photos). Despite the location is not along the main street, it’s rather easy to get a taxi there. When we walked along the streets and we can see some BKK daily lifestyle - mini shops, salons, hawkers, wet markets and etc. We even had a seafood dinner @ one of the “coffeeshop”. My parents went for short walks and came back to the hotel with local food which tasted really good. Very interesting and fun.
I did enjoyed myself in the trip despite some “hiccups”. We got to know a guy called Peter. He drove us to our first destinations on the 2nd & 3rd day and to the airport. Luckily for us, he told us certain things that we should avoid when we are at the Grand Palace, Wat Pho & Wat Arun. He asked us to help him earn some petrol by going to the gems galleries. Personally, I find that it’s alright because we just need to stay in the gallery for 10 mins and he can get free petrol. I got myself a Peridot ring in 1 of the gallery. I’m not sure if what I’ve paid for is real or fake, but I feel nice to have helped him. Maybe it’s what we chinese called “Fate”, like I told my mom. Anyway, I had always wanted to go to these galleries in my previous trip, but my friends all did not want to because “they went before”. This trip rounded a few of my “wishes”.
This trip has been fulfilling. Fulfilled my parents’ dream to travel, their wish to visit Erawan Shrine to go praying and their wishes to see & do things @ BKK. It was satisfying because we went for free & easy and managed find the places that we wanted to visit. I’m happy because I fulfilled my own wish to bring my parents to travel. It’s 1 of my deepest most wanted things to do. Let’s hope there’s more to come but I must make sure, we go with tour group next time. Haha.

Who has the rights?

If I had not been playing my role, would I even care to get your final confirmation on what was proposed is exactly what you want? If I had not heard that stupid question your subordinate asked my vendors, would I be unsure of what does she want?
It is definitely my expertise to advise & recommend, but it is definitely your call to confirm with me what DOES YOU WANT. If what I recommend does not meet your requirements, adjustments & customization has to be confirmed and quoted before we can further work right?
In the first place, she does not even know what she wants.
URGH. FOR GOD’S SAKE!
I’m not sick of work. I’m sick of the people I’m working with.
